Stables Cottage

The Stables Cottage is a beautifully restored self catering cottage within an 18 century stable courtyard on Galloway House Estate. It has an enclosed garden with a charming organic vegetable patch for your use and a lawn with table and chairs, a garden heater and barbecue.

A safe external stair leads to the cottage, and once inside is all on one level. The interior is decorated in Farrow and Ball colours with floorboards or natural flooring. There is one double bedroom with Lit-bateau bed and two twin bedrooms.

There is a spacious and comfy sitting room with a real fire, a T.V and a DVD player and plenty of books and board games. The bathroom has a large free-standing bath. The kitchen has a table for 6, a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, and high chair if required. There is also a washing machine and a drying line in the garden.

Stables Cottage adjoins our smaller Stables Bothy with 1 bedroom. Booking  both is perfect for larger groups and extended families. Both have use of a huge trampoline with safety net within the courtyard.

10 minutes walk away, on the estate, is a beautiful safe, sandy beach,perfect for children, lots of sand, safe swimming and few people. The cottage is set amid a listed landscape which is now organically farmed.

The area is perfect for cycling - children and adults - wonderful hill walks, and coastal walks.Also close by tennis, golf, sea and fresh water fishing. We are 10 minutes drive from Wigtown - Scotland's book town, with 17 second-hand bookshops and an annual festival.
