Cruggleton Lodge is a beautifully and carefully restored Georgian lodge on this Scottish coastal estate in Dumfries and Galloway. Within a listed landscape, now organically farmed it is situated on a spectacular cliff top with uninterrupted views out to sea.
There is a beautiful coastal walk to a safe sandy beach to the north and the ruins of 13th century Cruggleton Castle to the south.
Inside the self catering lodge is a hip mix of antiques and contemporary style. There are two gorgeous bedrooms, one double and one twin, both with amazing views. The upstairs bathroom is fully tiled in travertine and has a double ended bath with a fixed shower attachment.
A spacious, stylish sitting room has a wood-burning fire, cosy chairs and a huge sofa that can be turned into a bed. There is a desk with internet connection, also a radio and iPod dock. There are also plenty of books and games.
The kitchen has an amazing sea view, an Aga, with cook books, a Belfast sink and a table for six. There is a door leading outside into a paved area for sitting and eating out. There are shuttered windows and oak floors throughout.
On arrival there is a complimentary hamper from our local Ravenstone deli.
It is a remote, stylish, coastal escape, wild outside and cosy inside.
