Cruggleton Lodge is a beautifully and carefully restored Georgian lodge on this Scottish coastal estate in Dumfries and Galloway. Within a listed landscape, now organically farmed it is situated on a spectacular cliff top with uninterrupted views out to sea.

Outside the cottage, with amazing clifftop views, there is a wood fired hot tub. The Dutchtub, for 4, can be used in daytime looking out to sea or at nighttime under the stars.

Inside the self catering cottage is a hip mix of antiques and contemporary style. There are two gorgeous bedrooms, one double and one twin, both with amazing views. The upstairs bathroom is fully tiled in travertine and has a double ended bath with a fixed shower attachment.

A spacious, stylish sitting room has a wood-burning fire, cosy chairs and a huge sofa that can be turned into a bed. There is a desk with internet connection, also a radio and iPod dock. There are also plenty of books and games.

The kitchen has an amazing sea view, an Aga, with cook books, a Belfast sink and a table for six. There is a door leading outside into a paved area for sitting and eating out. There are shuttered windows and oak floors throughout. The holiday lodge now features a wood-fired hottub for additional luxury.

There is a beautiful coastal walk to a safe sandy beach to the north and the ruins of 13th century Cruggleton Castle to the south.

It is a remote, stylish, coastal escape, wild outside and cosy inside.

"The dramatic cliff-top position of this restored Georgian lodge gives it dazzling views across the Irish Sea. Inside is stunning, too. There's a cosy living room with woodburning stove and huge sofabed, a gorgeous kitchen with an Aga and two chic bedrooms. Check out the nearby ruins of 13th-century Cruggleton Castle." - The Observer (28 June 2009 - 50 Best Holiday Cottages)

"Cruggleton Lodge in Dumfries and Galloway is as contemporary as could be, with a hotel-style bathroom, oak floors, map-print wallpaper and iPod dock all making for a high comfort factor." - The Independent (21 February 2009 - 5 Coastal Cottage Retreats)
